OUR STORY
Oak Bridge School was founded in 2005 as Boonce Academy. Today, Oak Bridge School is a private, accredited school that serves children ages 6 weeks through 6th grade.
Our campus is in North County and includes well-lit classrooms that are inviting and well-organized. Students can burn off energy in our indoor gymnasium or outside in our large play space that encourages vigorous activity. Our teachers have education degrees and are certified to teach preschool through elementary grades.
We believe that given the right opportunities and support students can achieve academic success. That’s why we provide tutoring and lesson plans customized to meet student needs. We’re excited when a student “gets it” and have been pleased to see students improve their test scores and catch up with their peers.
Our teachers participate in professional development courses in science, math, literacy, and technology so they are up to date on the latest teaching methodologies.
We also believe in giving parents support. We offer classes and connect families with counseling services when student’s test scores have fallen because of behavior or family issues.
We’ve partnered with local businesses and organizations to bring unique educational opportunities and mentorships to our students. This partnership between students, parents, teachers, and the community creates an environment where children can excel and flourish.
Mission
To empower students to succeed by partnering with the community and partnering with parents. (EPP)

EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY
Oak Bridge’s curriculum is based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory developed by Howard Gardner, a Harvard University graduate. This teaching method considers that every child learns differently and that having a traditional one-size-fits-all teaching style will leave some children behind.
The Howard Gardner theory challenges the idea of a single IQ and proposes that there are multiple types of human intelligence based on the different ways we process information.
The Howard Gardner theory challenges the idea of a single IQ and proposes that there are multiple types of human intelligence based on the different ways we process information.
- Verbal-linguistic intelligence involves sensitivity to spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capacity to use language to accomplish certain goals.
- Logical-mathematical intelligence is the capacity to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically.
- Musical intelligence involves skill in performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns. It encompasses the capacity to recognize and compose musical pitches, tones, and rhythms.
- Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence entails the potential of using one’s whole body or parts of the body to solve problems.
- Visual-spatial intelligence involves the potential to recognize and use the patterns of wide space and more confined areas.
- Interpersonal intelligence is the capacity to understand the intentions, motivations, and desires of other people.
- Intrapersonal intelligence entails the capacity to understand oneself, to appreciate one’s feelings, fears, and motivations.
