EARLY CHILDHOOD
Our Early Childhood Program is for children from 6 weeks to 23 months. Teachers work with children on their gross and fine motor skills. They also read and play with them and take them on nature walks. Children get adequate sleep time which is important for development.

JUNIOR PRESCHOOL
During Junior Preschool, children learn their ABCs, months of the year and days of the week, colors and shapes, and how to count. They are introduced to science and conduct simple experiments and have fun with music and art. If your child needs help, we provide assistance with potty training.
SENIOR PRESCHOOL
For children to participate in the Senior Preschool Program, they must be potty trained. During this Program, we reinforce what was learned in Junior Preschool and begin teaching basic math concepts such as addition. Children are introduced to iPads and teachers use them to reinforce daily lessons. Each child has 45 minutes of screen time.
PRE-K
Our Pre-K curriculum mirrors that which is typically taught in kindergarten. Children learn how to print their first and last names and spell simple words. We begin teaching phonics, and rhyming games are used to help children begin to read. Teachers use iPads to reinforce lessons. Every student has 45 minutes of screen time.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Each grade -- Kindergarten through 6th grade -- includes instruction in language arts, reading comprehension, history and social studies, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). Students create projects, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. Students make use of the school’s computer lab and use tablet applications for interactive learning. We offer an accelerated program but will meet children at whatever learning level they are at. Students also take advantage of collaborative learning with groups and with partners.
We hold productions so students can show parents what they have learned. Through these productions, students gain experience with public speaking and presentations. Classroom projects are also displayed in the hallways for parents and other students to see.
Oak Bridge partners with local universities and organizations. Leaders from our partners come to the school and work alongside teachers to mentor students.
In recognition of academic achievement and other success, we present students with awards. We use standardized testing to track student achievement and to make sure that we meet national standards.
Tutoring, counseling, and mediation services are some of the supportive services we offer to our students and their parents.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMP
Our unique Summer Enrichment Camp is open to kids from 2 years to 8th grade. This 10-week Camp is a perfect opportunity to give your child a jump start into the next school year. Our morning sessions focus on academics such as reading and math. Then, after lunch we play games and do art projects. We also take field trips to places such as the Magic House and the City Museum.
Our partnership with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) has given us the opportunity to offer STEM activities during our Summer Camp. It’s exciting to see the students learn about concepts that will impact their future. Students who have attended our Summer Camp have gone back to school ahead of where they were during the previous academic year. |
